Work has commenced on the 12.1-kilometre Asebu to Brimsu road in the Abura Asebu Kwamankese Constituency of the Central Region.

The project was officially launched over the weekend with a sod-cutting ceremony led by Mr. Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Member of Parliament for the area.

Mr. Kwakye Ofosu said the road project formed part of efforts to improve transportation infrastructure and enhance socio-economic development in the constituency.

He noted that the stretch, which passes through several communities, had for years posed challenges to commuters and traders, especially during the rainy season.

The MP expressed optimism that the construction of the road would improve access to markets, schools, and health facilities, while boosting economic activities in the beneficiary communities.

He urged residents to cooperate with the contractors to ensure the smooth and timely completion of the project.

Some residents who spoke to the Ghana News Agency described the commencement of the project as a major relief and commended the government for responding to their concerns.

The 12.1km Asebu–Brimsu road is expected to improve connectivity and reduce travel time within the constituency upon completion.
