Manuel Neuer returns into Bayern Munich’s goal from injury for Sunday’s Bundesliga match against Wolfsburg amid talks about his future while there is no place in the squad yet for long-time absentee Jamal Musiala.There had been speculation that playmaker Musiala could be in the squad in a return from a fibula fracture and dislocated ankle in July.Coach Vincent Kompany had said Musiala could get his first minutes within the next three games but told reporters on Saturday it would not happen against Wolfsburg for the unbeaten runaway leaders.

“Not yet for this game. We’re close but we don’t want to take that final step too quickly. This week was good for him, he’s done almost everything in training. But this game is still too soon,” he said.
Joshua Kimmich will also miss the game in his ongoing recovery from an ankle problem but Neuer returns from a thigh muscle injury.
Neuer turns 40 in March and has said he would make up his mind at around that time whether to continue for another season or not.
Bayern board member for sport Max Eberl said the club is not in a hurry and that “at this age you don’t talk about a perspective any more but about a shorter term.”
Eberl and Kompany said they are well positioned with former World Cup winner Neuer and young Jonas Urbig who has deputised well on several occasions.
“Manu has achieved an unbelievable amount for FC Bayern. He’s turning 40 soon. We’re talking about an absolutely top level that he plays at, which is quite extraordinary. We’ll sit down together and then see,” Eberl said.
Kompany said: “At the moment I see the combination of Manu and Jonas as ideal, also for Jonas’ development. Manu has certainly helped Jonas a lot. Jonas has already played in some important matches.”
He would not want to talk about summer while Eberl said in general terms on Urbig that “We’re confident that one day he can be FC Bayern’s number one.”
