Bawumia celebrates Kudus’ £55m move to Spurs

Former Vice President and 2024 NPP flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has lauded Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus on his anticipated £55 million move to Tottenham Hotspur.

The North London club has reportedly reached an agreement with West Ham United, setting the stage for Kudus to undergo a medical and sign a six-year deal. This transfer would mark the first direct switch between the two clubs since 2011.

A known Spurs supporter, Dr. Bawumia expressed his excitement on X (formerly Twitter), saying:

“I am excited to see our Ghanaian starboy make this move to my @SpursOfficial. All the best in your medical @KudusMohammedGH.”

Kudus, who joined West Ham from Ajax in 2023, impressed in his debut season with his dynamic play and versatility across the frontline. His performances quickly attracted attention from top clubs across Europe.

The deal highlights Ghana’s growing football presence on the global stage and comes as Kudus prepares for the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.

Tottenham is also reportedly eyeing Yoane Wissa of Brentford as part of efforts to boost their attacking options.
