Award-winning Ghanaian rapper King Paluta has received national recognition after his hit song ‘Aseda’ was featured in the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
The popular track, by Thomas Adjei Wireko, appeared in Section B of the Music and Creative Arts paper. Question 4(c) asked students to name two significant social issues addressed in the song Aseda.

Fans and education advocates alike have praised the move, noting that Paluta’s music goes beyond entertainment, it inspires, educates, and comments on real social issues. The moment underscores the growing cultural influence of contemporary Ghanaian artists.
The BECE concluded on Wednesday, June 18, with candidates writing the final paper in Arabic. The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) expressed satisfaction with the overall conduct of the exams, despite a few logistical challenges across the country.
