Kwabena Kwabena to release star-studded ‘Asor’ remix and global tour for 20th anniversary

Ghanaian highlife sensation Kwabena Kwabena is set to mark the 20th anniversary of his breakthrough album Asor with a star-studded remix of the title track and a world tour.

According to his manager, Nana Poku Ashis, the upcoming remix will feature some of the finest musicians in Ghana’s music industry.

Speaking on Hitz FM’s Daybreak Hitz, Ashis explained the team’s aim is to create a timeless classic, not just a trending track.

“Asor is that big. If you want to touch it, you have to do it right or leave it,” he said, noting that artists like Okyeame Kwame are being considered for the project.

The remix is part of a broader anniversary initiative to celebrate two decades since Asor catapulted Kwabena Kwabena to fame in 2004.

To deepen fan engagement, a global anniversary tour will kick off in August 2025. The tour will span multiple continents, with performances in more intimate venues designed to bring fans closer to the music.

Confirmed Tour Dates

  • Aug 24 – London, UK
  • Sept 6 – Bremen, Germany
  • Sept 27 – Accra, Ghana
  • Oct 4 – Takoradi, Ghana
  • Oct 12 – Washington D.C., USA
  • Nov 22 – Sydney, Australia

Additional stops in Kumasi and Amsterdam are expected to be announced soon.

The Asor remix and tour aim to reaffirm Kwabena Kwabena’s impact on highlife music while celebrating the legacy and longevity of his artistry.
