Wendy Shay confirms new partnership deal with Rufftown Records

Award-winning musician Wendy Shay has clarified speculations about her relationship with Rufftown Records, stating that she hasn’t exited the label but has transitioned into a new working model with them.

In a post on X, Wendy explained:
“I am still with Rufftown Records, but it’s more of a partnership this time.”

The singer revealed she now has her own team managing her career, and the arrangement with Rufftown Records is no longer exclusive, unlike in the past when the label had full control over her management.

Rumors about a fallout with the label began in May 2024 after Wendy released the music video for her single “Who Cares” on a newly launched personal YouTube channel instead of Rufftown’s. She urged fans to support her new platform, sparking speculation about a potential split.

Later that month, Ricky Nana Agyemang (Bullet), CEO of Rufftown Records, confirmed during an interview on Accra FM that there were tensions between him and Wendy but emphasized that she hadn’t officially left the label.

Although those disagreements have reportedly been resolved, Wendy’s recent statements confirm a shift from full label management to a collaborative partnership, signaling a new chapter in her career.
