Nigerian music icon Davido has withdrawn from 50 Cent’s London concert scheduled for July 3 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The event also features Mary J. Blige.

In a statement shared via Instagram Stories on Saturday, June 14, Davido explained his decision stemmed from major disagreements over how the event was being organized. “This isn’t about ticket sales,” he said. “It’s about principle and respect for my craft.”

According to Davido, he and his team spent weeks preparing and cooperating with the organizers, The Neto Future Group. However, they could not resolve certain issues critical to maintaining performance standards. “We worked hard to make this happen. But key aspects needed to deliver a great show weren’t handled properly,” he noted.

He also clarified that while he was dropping out, the event itself would still proceed, just without him. “The show will go on, but I won’t be on that stage,” he confirmed.

Davido thanked fans for their support and emphasized that his decision reflected his commitment to artistic integrity and African cultural pride. “This is about respecting what I represent. Africa must be respected,” he declared.

Despite this cancellation, all of Davido’s other summer tour dates remain intact. He promised to appear in Germany, Portugal, Belgium, Canada, and the United States as planned. “London, I’ll see you soon, I promise. 5ive is still alive!” he added.
