Ghanaian music sensation Black Sherif has dismissed claims that he artificially boosts his streaming numbers, calling the accusations both baseless and offensive.
The Second Sermon and Soja hitmaker made the statement in response to critics questioning the authenticity of his massive digital performance.
Currently, Black Sherif is enjoying global success with his newly released sophomore album, Iron Boy. Six of its tracks occupy the top six spots on Boomplay and Apple Music Ghana’s Top 100.
The album also debuted at:
- #6 on Spotify UK’s Top Debut Albums chart
- #10 on the Billboard World Albums Chart
- 80M+ total streams on Audiomack
Despite these accomplishments, some have speculated that his numbers are inflated using paid streaming services.
In an interview with Graphic Showbiz on Monday, June 9, Black Sherif set the record straight. “Honestly, that’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard. My success is 100% organic. I put my blood, sweat and tears into every note, every lyric, and every performance.”
He emphasized that his rise comes from authenticity, consistency, and hard work, not shortcuts. “I’ve built my audience through honesty and effort. My music speaks for itself. If people connect with my songs, it’s because I’ve poured my soul into them.”
The rapper concluded with a pointed message to his doubters:
“Anyone who thinks I buy fake streams doesn’t know the first thing about my work ethic or my passion for music.”
