V/R: Bees attack Anloga E.P. Primary; 1 dead, 2 in critical condition

Tragedy struck Anloga E.P. Primary School on Wednesday after a swarm of bees attacked pupils on the school premises, leaving one student dead and two others in critical condition.

According to eyewitness accounts, the bees suddenly invaded the school compound during school hours, stinging several pupils and causing panic among students and teachers. The affected pupils reportedly suffered multiple stings before staff and community members rushed in to rescue them.

The injured pupils were quickly transported to Keta Municipal Hospital for emergency treatment. Sadly, one pupil aged nine (9) years was pronounced dead, while two others remain in critical condition and are receiving intensive medical care. Several other pupils were also treated for minor stings.

The incident has thrown the school and the entire Anloga community into mourning, with parents and residents expressing shock and grief over the unfortunate event.

Education authorities and local officials are yet to issue an official statement, but calls are growing for urgent safety assessments of school environments across the Volta region, especially in areas prone to wild insects and other hazards.

Meanwhile, residents are appealing to the Ghana Education Service (GES), NADMO, and health authorities to investigate the incident and put preventive measures in place to avert similar tragedies in the future.
