According to him, it is very evidential that one does not need to be told by a soothsayer or pollster to predict the outcome of the eventual winner of the by-election.
He stressed that the NDC believes in electoral research and polls, adding that their major concern is how voters will turn up to cast their ballots.
Speaking to the media at the Alhaj Iddrisu House 2 polling station, Amorse Blessing reiterated that they are keen on urging party faithful to come out and vote since it’s their civic right.
“We, the NDC, believe in electoral research and polls, but the truth is, in Ayawaso East, we don’t need a pollster to tell you Baba Jamal will win. What we are concerned about is the voter turnout, and that is why every day we are on the grounds to convince our people that they should go beyond the narrative that it’s a by-election, so we should stay indoors. You have the right to vote, but for the winning, you don’t need a soothsayer or pollsters to tell you that Baba Jamal will win the election,” he said.
“All the other candidates don’t even have agents, and it tells you that it’s the NDC against voter turnout. At the end of the day, Baba Jamal will end up in parliament.” Amorse Blessing urged added.
The by-election has attracted significant political interest, with five candidates vying for the seat.
Following the balloting on Thursday, February 12, 2026, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) parliamentary candidate Baba Jamal drew the top spot on the ballot paper.
He will be challenged by Ibrahim Iddrisu of the Liberal People’s Party (LPP) in the second position, Yussif Baba Ali of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the third, and independent candidates Alhaji Mohammed Umaru Sanda and David Kannor in the fourth and fifth positions, respectively.
