Yes! TEIN is unattractive to students – TESCON UPSA backs Frank Asiedu Bekoe

A pro-NPP student group, Tertiary Education Students Confederacy Network (TESCON) of the University of Professional Studies-Accra (UPSA) has backed Mr. Frank Asiedu Bekoe, the Director of Political Affairs at the Office of the Chief of Staff who stated that  TEIN of the NDC is unattractive to students.

The comment by Mr. Aseidu Bekoe did not go down well with the TEIN National Secretariat who described the statement as “untenable, uncouth and irresponsible.”.

At the hill of TEIN NDC demanding an apology from Mr. Aseidu Bekoe for  finding the statement highly reprehensible, TESCON UPSA in a statement copied Awake News has jumped to the defense of their ‘boss’ Mr. Aseidu Bekoe saying he said nothing but the truth.

“First and foremost, we hold the position that our counterparts have challenges as regards comprehension. Mr. Asiedu Bekoe’s point was to the effect that even when numbers are compared across tertiary institutions in the country, TESCON beats TEIN into a pulp. It lends credence to the fact that TEIN is not attractive to the larger majority of students.” – TESCON UPSA General Secretary, Mr. Gyau Baffour said in the statement

“TESCON UPSA would like to stress on the fact that the summary of what Mr. Frank Asiedu Bekoe was and is a truism. The facts on the ground point to his matter-of-factly statement that TESCON attracts students whereas TEIN repels students.” – he added

PRESS RELEASE

TERTIARY EDUCATION STUDENTS CONFEDERACY NETWORK NPP, UPSA CHAPTER REPLIES NDC TEIN NATIONAL SECRETARIAT AND ASSOCIATES ITSELF WITH MR FRANK ASIEDU BEKOE.

In their overarching zeal to find faults and flaws with statements that have been proven to be indisputable, the TEIN National Secretariat of the opposition National Democratic Congress has latched on to a statement made by Mr Frank Asiedu Bekoe, the Director of Political Affairs at the Office of the Chief of Staff and running riots with it.

In a press statement released by the TEIN National Secretariat, the students’ wing of the NDC finds a statement made by Mr. Asiedu Bekoe, otherwise known as Protozoa, when he delivered a speech at the handing over ceremony of UPSA’s Tertiary Education Students Confederacy Network (TESCON) to be untenable, uncouth and irresponsible.

TEIN, read with bewilderment, cannot fathom why Mr Frank Asiedu Bekoe would pontificate that the ruling party is the most intellectually organized youth wing on university campuses. Mr. Bekoe, in his statement, took a swipe at the students’ wing of the NDC and intimated that people of the intelligentsia class find TEIN unattractive and choose to pitch camps with TESCON, the tertiary wing of the New Patriotic Party.

The above description, our NDC counterparts, find highly reprehensible and are calling on Mr. Frank Asiedu Bekoe to unreservedly apologise for that statement.

First and foremost, we hold the position that our counterparts have challenges as regards comprehension. Mr. Asiedu Bekoe’s point was to the effect that even when numbers are compared across tertiary institutions in the country, TESCON beats TEIN into a pulp. It lends credence to the fact that TEIN is not attractive to the larger majority of students.

Another point worth noting which also formed part of the reasons Mr. Asiedu Bekoe gave to buttress his point was the fact that the National Democratic congress loses every National Elections in every Tertiary Institution in Ghana. Simple logical deduction would tell one that if TEIN is that attractive to intelligent students, the NDC would have won on these campuses in 2016.

TESCON UPSA would like to stress on the fact that the summary of what Mr. Frank Asiedu Bekoe was and is a truism. The facts on the ground point to his matter-of-factly statement that TESCON attracts students whereas TEIN repels students.

We are dumbfounded at the manner in which our NDC friends are rejecting this fact when they know that the evidence on the ground vindicates Mr. Asiedu Bekoe.

Instead of expending precious time and energy releasing statements, our TEIN siblings can do better by using these same resources at their disposal to work with the aim of making TEIN attractive to students.

We wholly associate ourselves with what Mr. Asiedu Bekoe alluded to because what he said cannot be impeached.
Thank you!

SIGNED.
