We’re in power, but still jobless – Mzbel slams NDC over unfulfilled promises

Ghanaian musician and businesswoman Mzbel is calling on the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC) to take urgent action on job creation, saying the pressure on her from people expecting opportunities is overwhelming.

Mzbel, known offstage as Belinda Nana Ekua Amoah, said she is constantly approached by people from her constituency, friends, colleagues, family, and even new voters who are all asking for jobs.

She expressed her frustration, saying supporters feel disappointed because they believed the NDC’s campaign promises would lead to more employment once the party won power.

“We are in power, but we are still struggling to find jobs. The pressure is too much. People are depending on us,” she said.

Mzbel, who is also a radio presenter, actress, and ambassador for persons with disabilities, appealed directly to President John Mahama and the NDC leadership to fulfil their promises.

She urged the party not to ignore the concerns of the people, stressing that jobs were a major reason many voted for them.
