Ghanaian midfielder Thomas Partey will officially part ways with Arsenal at the end of June, football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has confirmed.

Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Romano stated that the 32-year-old will leave the North London club as a free agent once his five-year contract expires on June 30, 2025. Partey joined Arsenal from Atlético Madrid in 2020 for £45 million and has been a key figure in midfield despite recurring injury setbacks.

Romano previously reported stalled negotiations between Partey’s camp and the Gunners, and it now appears both parties are set to go their separate ways. Arsenal is already preparing for life after Partey, having identified Brentford midfielder Christian Nørgaard as a potential replacement.

Despite the uncertainty around his contract, Partey delivered a solid performance in the 2024/25 season, contributing four goals and three assists across 52 appearances in all competitions.

Currently on holiday, the Black Stars vice-captain recently received the Footballer of the Year Award at the 2025 Ghana Football Awards, marking the third time he’s won the honour.
