Ronaldo signs two-year contract extension with Al-Nassr

Cristiano Ronaldo has extended his stay at Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr, signing a new two-year contract that will keep him at the club beyond his 42nd birthday.

The 40-year-old Portuguese superstar initially joined the Riyadh-based side in December 2022 after a dramatic exit from Manchester United, where he publicly criticized the club and manager Erik ten Hag.

Ronaldo’s previous contract was set to expire at the end of June 2025, sparking speculation about his next move. However, those rumours were put to rest when the five-time Ballon d’Or winner confirmed the renewal on social media.

“A new chapter begins. Same passion, same dream. Let’s make history together,” Ronaldo posted on X (formerly Twitter).

While Al-Nassr have not clinched any league titles since his arrival, Ronaldo has made a massive individual impact. He scored 35 goals in 41 appearances across all competitions last season and finished as the Saudi Pro League’s top scorer for the second year running.

Since joining the club, Ronaldo has netted 99 goals in 111 matches, continuing his chase to become the first player to score 1,000 senior career goals. he currently stands at 938 for club and country.

The former Real Madrid, Juventus, and Sporting Lisbon forward also recently helped Portugal win the UEFA Nations League and is now eyeing a potential sixth World Cup appearance in 2026.
