Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 137th international goal as Portugal came from behind to beat Germany 2-1 in Munich and book their place in the 2025 UEFA Nations League final.
The 40-year-old striker tapped in from close range in the 68th minute after a precise low cross from Nuno Mendes, just five minutes after Francisco Conceição had equalized.
Germany had taken the lead in the 48th minute through Florian Wirtz, who headed in a lofted ball from Joshua Kimmich, celebrating his 100th cap. However, Portugal protested that German debutant Nick Woltemade had blocked Ruben Dias in the build-up. Referee Slavko Vincic, after a VAR review, let the goal stand.
Substitute Conceição leveled in the 63rd minute with a brilliant solo effort, curling a left-footed shot past Marc-Andre ter Stegen from the edge of the box.
Ronaldo sealed the win five minutes later, unmarked in the box, completing the comeback. Germany came close to forcing extra time, but Karim Adeyemi’s late effort struck the post.
Portugal, champions in 2019, now await the winner of Thursday’s semi-final between France and Spain. The final will be played Sunday in Munich.
