Parts of Tema, Accra to experience erratic power supply

A team of investigators from the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police have opened investigations into how a GRIDCo pylon in Tema was damaged.

An unknown person had cut down the bolts and knots that held one of the pylons that transmit power from Karpower and ASKA to the national grid.

The pylon stands close to the GRIDCo head office and the cruelty reportedly happened at the about 1 am Monday, March 25 and workers noticed the damage when they reported at work.

The incident is likely to affect power supply in most areas in and around Tema and Accra, a source at GRIDCo whispered to awakenewsonline, though Jonathan Amoako-Baah, Chief Executive Officer of the company, told newsmen that they are reviewing the situation to determine the impact of power supply.

The CID picked a hacksaw blade at the foot of the destroyed pylon and Jonathan Amoako-Baah expressed the hope that the police would surely grab whoever caused the damage to the state property.
