OSP was purposely established to prosecute Mahama – Joyce Bawa claims

Joyce Bawa Mogtari, Special Aide to former President and flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, has alleged that the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) was purposely established to prosecute her boss and his former appointees.

She made these statements in a detailed piece addressed to members of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) on X (formerly Twitter) on Monday, August 12.

According to her, although the OSP was established to target the former President, it has so far failed to achieve this goal.

She also mocked the NPP, stating that the first Special Prosecutor, Martin Amidu, was unable to take any action against Mahama as desired. Instead, Mr. Amidu called on President Akufo-Addo to address corruption within his own administration.

“Indeed, the Office of the Special Prosecutor was purposefully established to hound and prosecute John Mahama and his appointees. Who doesn’t know that thinking? After all was said and done, the first OSP told Akufo-Addo to fight corruption in his government instead of targeting John Mahama.

“The second Special Prosecutor has ended an entirely useless, baseless, and frivolous investigation brought against Mahama by Akufo-Addo. This has come to an unsurprising but important conclusion, categorically stating that Mahama was exonerated and had done nothing wrong,” part of her post read.

She continued “Please know that John Mahama is a man with whom God is pleased. All the evil plans and intrigues against him are going to fail. He will go on to win the next election and put you and all who think like you to shame.”
