Mahama will prosecute “Agyapadie” thieves – Sammy Gyamfi

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has pledged to investigate and prosecute individuals found guilty of implementing the controversial contents of the “Agyapadie” book.

At a press conference in Accra, dubbed “The Moment of Truth” and held on Wednesday, August 7, the party’s National Communication Officer, Sammy Gyamfi, revealed that the current administration, in its attempt to execute the “Agyapadie” book, has resorted to illegal and sole-sourced contracts.

The renowned legal practitioner made it clear that the future NDC government, under the leadership of its flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama, would investigate and prosecute the “Agyapadie thieves”.

He said “Fellow countrymen and women, you can be rest assured, that under the next NDC/Mahama government these sleazy, illegal and inflated sole-sourced contracts will be investigated and the “agyapadie” thieves prosecuted. More importantly, stolen funds will be retrieved for the state for development and all those found culpable shall be dealt with in accordance with law.

Mr. Gyamfi further added that, “This same level of accountability will be extended to members of a future NDC government, no matter whose ox is gored.”

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and some members of the ruling government have been accused of plotting to capture certain sectors of the country’s economy, as documented in the “Agyapadie” book. The controversial document, first published by Awake News in 2020, allegedly reveals a grand scheme by a faction of ‘Akyems’ within the current NPP to control sectors such as finance, mining, and media.

In his response, President Akufo-Addo dismissed the content of the book, stating that it was fabricated by his political opponents to tarnish his reputation.
