Koku Anyidoho’s Appearance at NPP Thanksgiving Event Sparks Political Debate

Former Deputy General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Koku Anyidoho, was seen at a thanksgiving ceremony organised by the New Patriotic Party (NPP), an appearance that has generated discussion within political circles.

Mr. Anyidoho, a long-time figure associated with the NDC, attended the event as a guest, drawing attention from party faithful and observers who described his presence as unexpected, given Ghana’s often polarised partisan landscape.

While he did not address the gathering publicly, sources at the event indicated that his attendance was cordial and uneventful, with no immediate political statement made.

The development has since triggered varied reactions, with some political analysts interpreting it as a sign of growing cross-party social engagement, while others insist it should not be read into as a shift in political allegiance.

Mr. Anyidoho, who has in recent years taken outspoken and independent positions on national matters, has not issued an official explanation regarding his participation in the programme.

Observers say such appearances, though rare, reflect the fluid nature of Ghana’s political space, where individual actors may engage across party lines outside formal political realignments.
