The items, which include sugar, tea, and milk, are intended to support families during the fasting period and ensure that vulnerable households are not left out as Muslims prepare for the annual religious observance.
Details of the initiative were shared by the MP’s Executive Secretary, Kotia Nurudeen Abubakar Bitis, in a post on his official Facebook page. He explained that the gesture forms part of Dr. Pelpuo’s longstanding tradition of supporting Muslim faithful in the constituency during Ramadan.
According to him, beyond the items already distributed, additional supplies have been deliberately procured and reserved to guarantee a wider, fair, and timely distribution across communities, particularly targeting the needy.
The initiative, he noted, reflects Dr. Pelpuo’s commitment to compassion, social responsibility, and religious harmony, as well as his belief that leadership must be felt at the grassroots level, especially during sacred and festive periods.
The annual support programme has, over the years, become a key intervention welcomed by residents, many of whom view it as a timely relief that helps ease the burden on families during Ramadan.
