In a post on his Facebook platform, Loud Silence Media, Mr. Taylor accused the parliamentary leadership of failing to apply sanctions against the Minority Leader despite allegations involving his conduct toward a police officer and claims he made concerning recruitment into the security services.
According to Mr. Taylor, the leadership of Parliament, including Speaker Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin and Majority Leader Mahama Ayariga, should take disciplinary action against Mr. Afenyo-Markin in accordance with parliamentary rules.
He argued that failure to enforce the relevant sanctions could be interpreted as an endorsement of the Minority Leader’s actions.
Mr. Taylor further criticised what he described as inaction by parliamentary authorities, insisting that leadership must uphold the rules governing the House to maintain credibility and accountability.
The social media commentator also warned that he and his platform would continue to raise the matter publicly until the leadership of Parliament addresses the concerns raised.
The comments follow recent developments in Parliament in which Mr. Afenyo-Markin retracted earlier allegations he had made regarding recruitment processes in the security services and apologised to Interior Minister Muntaka Mohammed-Mubarak.
Parliament has yet to issue any formal response to Mr. Taylor’s remarks at the time of filing this report.
