The Member of Parliament for Ketu North, Hon. Eric Edem Agbana, has fulfilled a promise to assist an elderly woman whose house was severely damaged by strong winds several months ago.

The roof of the woman’s house was ripped off during a rainstorm, leaving her exposed to harsh weather conditions and at the mercy of the elements.

According to Mr Agbana, the elderly woman had approached him yesterday at a public event to seek urgent assistance, insisting on speaking to him directly about her plight.

Responding promptly to her appeal, the MP visited her residence with a carpenter to assess the extent of damage.

Following the assessment, he immediately purchased roofing materials required for the rehabilitation works. Re-roofing of the house commenced before he left the premises.

The elderly woman, affectionately known in the community as “Kporkpor Ghana Campaign” due to her active involvement in political campaigns over the years, expressed excitement and gratitude for the intervention.

Despite enduring significant personal hardship, including the loss of ten children, she remains strong in spirit. She currently lives with her only surviving daughter, who is unemployed.

Mr Agbana conveyed warm messages of goodwill from members of the public to the elderly woman, who reportedly smiled throughout the visit.

He noted that beyond repairing the roof, he had been tasked by the elderly woman to pay her regular visits to maintain close contact.
