The Ghana Law Society (GLS) says they are “a credible association of lawyers who believe in the rule of law and not of the might” while urging the newly minted lawyers to “stand firm in truth. Speak boldly. Serve faithfully”
This was contained in a congratulatory message to the new lawyers signed by the Deputy General Secretary, Rev. David Kwaku Worwui-Brown ESQ.
“Today, with hearts filled with pride and eyes set on the promise of ensuring equitable and fair administration of justice, we welcome you, the newest guardians of the law, to the Bar and into the sacred fraternity of the Ghana Law Society (GLS).” – the Society said in a statement copied Awake News.
GLS has since charged the new lawyers as they step into the legal fraternity to be may you forever be guided by integrity, courage, and compassion in your work as attorneys-at-law.” –
The Ghana Law Society is a newly formed association of lawyers that many have argued is a move to break the constitutional monopoly of the Ghana Bar Association.
Over the years, the GBA has been the only association though voluntary recognized to be a body of lawyers that represent its member of statutory bodies of the country.
The association many have criticize as failing to represent the voice of its member and biased on its position on key national issues.
