Ghana Law Society congratulates new lawyers called to The Bar

The Ghana Law Society (GLS) has congratulated all the freshly minted Lawyers called to the Ghana’s Bar on Friday,
October 10th, 2025.

In a statement signed by the Deputy General Secretary, Rev. David Kwaku Worwui-Brown ESQ, the Society has charged the new lawyers to be “custodians of constitutional order, defenders of rights, voices of
the voiceless, and champions of fair justice”.

“As you step into the legal fraternity, may you forever be guided by integrity, courage, and compassion in your work as attorneys-at-law.” – the Society said in a statement copied Awake News.

“Today, with hearts filled with pride and eyes set on the promise of ensuring equitable and fair administration of justice, we welcome you, the newest guardians of the law, to the Bar and into the sacred fraternity of the Ghana Law Society (GLS).” – the statement added

The Ghana Law Society is a newly formed association of lawyers that many have argued is a move to break the constitutional monopoly of the Ghana Bar Association.

Over the years, the GBA has been the only association though voluntary recognized to be a body of lawyers that represent its member of statutory bodies of the country.

The association many have criticize as failing to represent the voice of its member and biased on its position on key national issues.
