The flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, has stated that he is the most accomplished Vice President in the Fourth Republic and deserves to be elected as the next President of Ghana.
Speaking at a stakeholders engagement on Monday, September 2, 2024, at the Kasoa Odekro Palace, Dr. Bawumia argued that he has performed remarkably as Vice President, in contrast to his competitor, John Dramani Mahama, who served as Vice President from 2009 to 2012.
According to the NPP’s presidential candidate, he has successfully “implemented 33 different policies as Vice President. The former President cannot point to one. He does not have one as Vice President. There is none. I can point to them.”
He added, “So, it means that I have passed the job as a Vice President. So, vote for me so I become President. I am a Vice President so if you vote for me, you will get a brand-new tear rubber President. When you vote for the former president, you will get home used secondhand President”.
