How my wife handled me after ‘Sex-for-Grades’ exposé — Prof. Ransford Gyampo

The University of Ghana’s Professor Ransford Gyampo has been reacting to the ‘Sex-for-Grades’ exposé.

A BBC investigation claims that the well-known Ghanaian political scientist sexually harassed undercover reporters who were posing as students—social media was enraged by the ‘Sex-for-Grades’ exposé.

In a 3FM interview to disclose how his wife handled him, Prof. Gyampo said that his wife did not take the exposé seriously, despite public assertions that it caused tension in their marriage.

He disclosed that the entire situation was a plot to damage his well-earned reputation, therefore he had shown his wife everything before the film was aired. He said there were no arguments over anything.

“It was not challenging, because she knew everything, I showed everything to her, we never quarreled about it,” he revealed.

Prof. Gyampo continued by revealing that the BBC had reached out to him for an interview before the contentious exposé aired, but he had turned them down after learning of an agenda.

According to him, he had shown them evidence since he was innocent of the charges made against him. He said despite his attempts to clarify things to them, the BBC was determined to go ahead with the story.

“When the matter broke and they were about to air it, they contacted me. I showed them evidence that I was innocent, I didn’t know anything about what they claimed I had done, but the more I explained, the more it became clear that they just wanted to go ahead with their story,” he disclosed.

Prof. Gyampo added that after realizing he should cease all of his interactions with the international media, he “blasted them and told them to go to hell.”
