Though the Porcupine Warriors have been inconsistent with their results, the gaffer reiterated the club remains focused on the title race, stressing that setbacks are part of football.
He noted that the team struggled to convert their chances and paid the price after conceding a goal while playing with ten men.
“We are down with the result that we had today, but it’s part of the game. We need to put it aside and concentrate on our next game,” Obeng told journalists.
He added that the team’s inability to find the back of the net proved costly, especially after conceding what he described as an avoidable goal at a difficult moment in the game.
Obeng underscored Kotoko’s chances; he insisted that the race for the Ghana Premier League title is still open.
Asante Kotoko will host Nations FC at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium in Kumasi on matchday 26 on Sunday, March 23.
