Madam Catherine Klutsey, a businesswoman and politician, has donated assorted items to the Akatsi South District Police Command in the Volta Region to support their operations and improve working conditions.
The gesture forms part of efforts to support the police in maintaining law and order in the district.
The items presented included a brand-new double-door refrigerator, packs of bottled water, bags of sachet water, soft drinks, toiletries and other essential supplies.
Madam Klutsey said the donation was her way of appreciating the dedication and sacrifices of the police in ensuring peace and security within the community.
She noted that effective policing required the support of citizens and stakeholders, adding that improving the welfare of officers would help them perform their duties more efficiently.
She added that some of the items, particularly the refrigerator and beverages, would also help improve the welfare and comfort of inmates at the station.
Receiving the items on behalf of the Command, the Akatsi South District Police leadership expressed gratitude to Madam Klutsey for the gesture and appealed to other individuals and organisations to emulate her example in supporting the work of the security services.
They assured that the items would be put to good use to enhance the operational efficiency and welfare of both officers and inmates.
