The Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) hockey teams have once again demonstrated their dominance in the sport, winning trophies in the 2025 T-Tommy hockey tournament held in Kumasi.

The GRA hockey ladies, who started the year on a high note by winning the Africa Cup for clubs championship in Egypt, continued their winning streak by taking home two trophies in the tournament.

The ladies’ team won all their matches in the Greater Accra league, and their male counterparts followed suit, showcasing their impressive skills on the field. In the T-Tommy tournament, the GRA teams won all their respective matches, with the ladies defeating KNUTS and Ghana Masters, while the men triumphed over KNUST, Ghana Masters, and Bompata hockey club.

In the finals, the GRA men’s team emerged victorious, defeating Kumasi stadium hockey club 2-0. This impressive performance is a testament to the teams’ hard work and dedication to the sport. The GRA hockey teams’ success is not limited to their wins; they are also contributing to the development of hockey in Ghana by inspiring young players.

The GRA delegation was led by Head of Sports, Mr. Ebenezer Frimpong. Both teams were also led by experienced technical teams, comprising Isaac Moses (coach), William Ansah (coach), and Victor Sowah (Team Manager) for the men’s team, while the women’s team was led by Osei Boakye-Yiadom (Technical Advisor), Ida Marmon-Halm (coach), Joseph Abadoo (Goalkeepers’ Trainer), Rosemary Lamptey (Team Manager), and Gifty Sackey (Welfare Officer).

This year’s T-Tommy tournament featured teams from senior high schools, providing a platform for the youth to showcase their skills and learn from their role models. This initiative is part of the development plans to promote hockey in Ghana, giving young players the opportunity to play and watch their mentors in action.
