The Ministry of Energy and Green Transition has refuted claims that Ghana will experience a nationwide power outage on Sunday, July 13, 2025.

In a statement, the Ministry clarified that although ENI will conduct scheduled maintenance and increase gas production on that day, it does not mean the entire country will face a blackout.

Speaking on Citi Eyewitness News on Wednesday, Richmond Rockson, Head of Communication at the Ministry, stressed that media reports suggesting a total blackout are false.

“That is inaccurate; that is falsehood,” Rockson said. “The Minister said there may be interruptions in power supply due to ENI’s maintenance, but no nationwide blackout is planned.”

He added that the Ministry has taken proactive steps to ensure stability in power supply and avoid a return to widespread “dumsor.”

The Ministry reassured the public that temporary interruptions may occur in some areas, but they do not indicate a national crisis.
