Dampare missing as current IGP meets former Police heads

The immediate past Inspector General of Police (IGP), Dr. George Dampare Akufo, was missing from a meeting of former heads of the Police service which was conveyed by his successor, COP Christian Tetteh Yohonu.

The meeting, which was held earlier on Wednesday, April 2, at the Police headquarters in Accra, had all the living former IGPs in attendance.

According to sources, Dr. Dampare was also duly invited, only for him to not turn up for the meeting.

The meeting, an insider says, was for the current IGP to seek the counsel of the former IGPs and also share experiences aimed at enhancing the administrative and operational effectiveness of the Police Service.

As at the time of filing this report, however, it is not known why the immediate past IGP failed to appear at the meeting.
