Black Stars Need Unity During Prepations for FIFA World Cup- Agyemang Badu

Ex-Ghana international Emmanuel Agyemang-Badu has called for patience and unity as the Black Stars intensify preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Ghana secured one of Africa’s nine automatic slots for the expanded 48-team tournament and has since moved to strengthen the technical bench with five new members.

The Ghana Football Association recently added experienced hands, including French coach Alain Ravera and Black Queens trainer Kim Lars Bjorkegren, as assistant coaches.

Spanish analyst Jose Daniel Martinez Alfonso has also joined to enhance scouting, while physiotherapist Carlos Lozano Romero and performance coach Dwayne Peasah Paa Kwesi complete the backroom team.

Despite the changes, Agyemang-Badu urged Ghanaians to avoid criticism with only months until the tournament.

“The Ghana FA knows the nature of the meetings they held with the coaches and management, as well as the kind of reinforcement needed in the technical team”.

He stressed that the FA understands the team’s needs and deserves public backing as preparations continue.

If they have decided to strengthen the technical team, we have to support them. With few months left to the World Cup, this is not the time to criticise the expansion. As Ghanaians, we need to be patient and back the team,” he told Kessben FM.

The World Cup will be co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico.

Ghana has been drawn in Group L alongside England, Croatia, and Panama, setting up a challenging campaign for the West African side.
