Deputy Attorney General Dr. Justice Srem Sai has assured Ghanaians that Attorney General Dr. Dominic Ayine will never pursue a prosecution without solid evidence.

Speaking on JoyNews’ PM Express, he stated that Ayine’s decisions are always rooted in legal merit. “He won’t go to court unless he’s convinced the evidence supports a possible conviction,” Dr. Srem Sai said.

Unlike others who may give in to public pressure or political influence, Dr. Ayine relies strictly on the law. According to the Deputy AG, this legal discipline gives him confidence in his role despite the intense demands. “He’s a principled lawyer. He places the law above everything else. He’s not out to persecute anyone,” he added.

Dr. Srem Sai, who studied under Ayine in law school, said his mentor’s character was a key reason for accepting the Deputy AG position. “He taught me constitutional, administrative, and natural resource law. So I know the kind of lawyer and person he is.”

For Dr. Srem Sai, knowing the Attorney General puts justice and due process first is both reassuring and motivating. However, he acknowledged the job’s pressures. “The expectations from Ghanaians are high. It hasn’t been easy. I barely sleep.”

Nevertheless, he remains committed, knowing that Ayine’s leadership upholds the integrity of the Attorney General’s office. “With Ayine at the helm, I was comfortable stepping into this responsibility.”
