Ayawaso East Vote-Buying Allegations a ‘Sad Moment’ for Ghana’s Democracy – Mussa Dankwah

Mr. Mussa Dankwah, Executive Director of Global InfoAnalytics, has described allegations of vote-buying in the Ayawaso East constituency as a “sad moment” in Ghana’s democratic journey.

He expressed concern that such claims, if substantiated, could undermine public confidence in the electoral process and weaken the integrity of the country’s democratic institutions.

Mr. Dankwah noted that credible elections are fundamental to good governance and urged stakeholders to take the allegations seriously and ensure thorough investigations.

According to him, safeguarding electoral integrity requires collective responsibility from political actors, institutions, and citizens alike.

He stressed the need for transparency and accountability in addressing the issue, adding that any individuals found culpable should be dealt with in accordance with the law.

Mr. Dankwah further called for intensified civic education to discourage electoral malpractice and promote ethical political participation.

The comments come amid growing public discourse on the credibility of elections and the need to protect Ghana’s democratic gains.
