Arsenal in final talks to extend partey’s contract

Arsenal are in advanced talks with Thomas Partey over a contract extension, according to Football Insider.

The Ghanaian midfielder, 31, joined Arsenal from Atlético Madrid in 2020. His current deal ends at the close of the season.

With the summer transfer window approaching, Partey has drawn interest from major clubs. Barcelona and Juventus are reportedly monitoring his situation, along with several Saudi Arabian teams.

Initially, Arsenal were open to letting him leave for free. However, Partey’s strong form since returning from injury has changed that stance. The club now values his experience and wants to keep him in North London.

So far this season, Partey has made 47 appearances in all competitions. His presence has been crucial to Mikel Arteta’s midfield.

He missed the first leg of the Champions League clash against Paris Saint-Germain. Arsenal’s midfield struggled in his absence. Partey is expected to return for the second leg at Parc des Princes.

Sources close to the club say he is settled at Arsenal and open to a two-year deal. But if talks stall, he may still consider options abroad. Interest from top European and Middle Eastern clubs remains strong.
