Appt’s Comm chaos: Speaker’s Committee to hold public hearings on February 5

The committee set up by the Right Honorable Speaker Alban Bagbin to investigate the chaos that sparked in the vetting of ministerial nominees on January 30 will begin its public hearings on Wednesday, February, 5th 2025.

The Speaker’s Committee is tasked with examining events that led to the chaotic scenes on January 30, destroying electronic equipment and tables and chairs.

The committee will be chaired by the Member of Parliament for Ho West, Emmanuel Bedzrah. The other members include Kwame Anyimadu-Antwi, Gizella Akushika Tetteh-Agbotui, Abena Osei Asare, Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings, Vincent Oppong Asamoah, and Bede Anwataazuma Ziedeng

Hon. Bagbin believes that the hearing will restore public trust in the House and ensure orderliness in Parliament.

The committee is given 10 days to conclude its findings and report with recommendations to the Speaker.
