Anyidoho tells Mahama: Don’t expect to win in Central Region after “snubbing” Fetu Afahye

Former President and flagbearer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, has been criticized for not honoring an invitation to this year’s Fetu Afahye, held on Saturday, September 7, in Cape Coast.

Koku Anyidoho, a former Deputy General Secretary of the NDC, expressed his displeasure over the party’s flagbearer’s decision, describing his absence from the festival as a “disrespect” to the late former President John Evans Atta Mills, who hailed from the Central Region.

Mr. Anyidoho also questioned the NDC’s chances of winning in the Central Region after Mr. Mahama failed to attend the event despite being invited.

“How does JM expect to win votes in Central Region, after snubbing an invitation to this year’s Fetu Afehye Festival? JM continues to disrespect President Atta-Mills and his heritage. Hmmm!!!,” he posted on X (formerly Twitter).

Meanwhile, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, Mahama’s running mate, along with other prominent members of the NDC, attended the well-attended event.

In the 2020 general elections, John Mahama won in only four constituencies, despite his party capturing 14 seats in the region.
