The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Akatsi South, Hon. Daniel Dagba, has announced a major expansion of ongoing road construction projects within the municipality, aimed at improving transportation and boosting local economic activity.
According to the MCE, key communities including Tatorme, Anyieme, Xavi, Dagbamate, Avenorpedo, Avenorpeme, Atidzive, and Akeve Gui are set to benefit from the upgraded road networks.
The initiative forms part of efforts to enhance connectivity between communities and ease the movement of goods and people across the constituency.
Hon. Dagba disclosed that the total stretch of roads earmarked for construction spans approximately 63.2 kilometres, making it one of the most extensive road development efforts in the area in recent times.
He emphasized that the project will not only improve access to markets, schools, and healthcare facilities but also open up the municipality for investment and development.
Residents in the beneficiary communities have long called for improved road infrastructure, especially during the rainy season when many routes become difficult to use.
The MCE assured the public of the Assembly’s commitment to ensuring the timely completion of the projects, adding that quality work will be prioritized to guarantee durability.
The expansion of the road projects is expected to significantly impact livelihoods in Akatsi South, as better roads are seen as a catalyst for growth and social development within the municipality.
