Acting CJ directs Registrars to report all new cases for assignment

Acting Chief Justice Baffoe-Bonnie has issued a directive instructing all registrars of the superior courts to report new cases directly to his office for the assignment of judges and hearing dates.

This move, effective immediately, is aimed at improving transparency and efficiency in the judiciary.

By centralizing the assignment process, the Acting CJ seeks to ensure fairness, consistency, and accountability in how cases are distributed among judges.

The directive is seen as part of broader efforts to strengthen judicial oversight and promote public trust in the legal system.

Registrars are expected to comply fully, with additional guidelines anticipated to streamline implementation.

Justice Baffoe-Bonnie, who recently assumed his acting role, has emphasized his commitment to upholding judicial integrity and reforming key administrative processes.

Legal observers view this step as a significant shift toward more accountable court operations.
