7 die in accident at Gomoa Antseadze

Seven persons have died in an accident at Gomoa Antseadze in the Central Region. 

The incident is said to have occurred on January 12, 2023.

According to a Facebook post by the Central regional public relations officer of the Fire service, rescuers from the Apam Fire Station responded to a distress accident SOS call at 8:00pm.

Rescuers upon arrival at the scene observed an Accra bound Sprinter bus with registration number GW 7920-22, with fifteen passengers from Mankessim had veered off the road and plunged into the bush”

Eye witnesses recount that, “the accident occurred after the driver lost control of the steering wheel causing the vehicle to somersault several times before hitting a tree by the road and plunged into the bush”.

Eight persons were injured in the accident.

The post added that the fire rescuers “tactically extricated and handed over to the Ambulance Service the driver and seven (7) passengers who were severely injured and to the Police Service seven (7) others who were dead”.
