Zonda Tec Ghana has officially introduced the Chery brand, unveiling a ‘super-premium’ range of SUVs that includes petrol, electric, and plug-in hybrid (PHEV) models. This launch reflects the company’s growing confidence in Ghana’s developing automotive market.
The event, held at Zonda Tec Ghana’s Dzorwulo branch, showcased five models aimed at executives and the upper-middle class: the Chery Tiggo 2, Tiggo 7, and Tiggo 9 SUVs, along with the fully electric ICAR 03 and ICAR V23.

During the launch, Zonda Tec Ghana’s Chief Executive Officer, Yang Yang, presented the vehicle lineup. She explained that the Chery Tiggo 2 is the most affordable option, the Tiggo 7 is the most economical, the Tiggo 9 offers the highest luxury, and the ICAR models are fully electric, capable of traveling over 400 kilometers. These vehicles are designed to meet the needs of Ghanaians.
The Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 9 are positioned in the premium SUV market, while the Tiggo 2 targets younger professionals looking for entry-level luxury. The ICAR 03 and ICAR V23 further establish Chery’s presence in Ghana’s electric vehicle sector. Yang Yang also highlighted plans for local assembly and job creation.
To meet Chery’s requirements for local assembly, a state-of-the-art automated assembly plant will be established, creating over 200 jobs for staff working on the assembly line, along with training in technology and knowledge transfer.
Yang Yang connected this investment to the government’s industrial agenda, stating that it aligns with the goal of boosting the economy and encouraging entrepreneurship to create more jobs and training opportunities.
Regarding quality and customer experience, she stated, “At Zonda, we provide our Ghanaian customers with the most affordable yet luxurious vehicles. All our vehicles are SUVs, ideal for Ghana’s roads. We aim to offer luxury at an affordable price. Our showrooms, like the two-floor Dzorwulo branch, are designed to provide the best environment for customers to purchase vehicles and receive top-notch after-sales service.”
