The Member of Parliament(MP) for Bole-Bamboi, Yusif Sulemana, has urged contractors who will commence work in his constituency to employ people within the district.
The 195 km road from Wenchi-Bole-Bamboi is a key one under the 13.1 billion cedis phase one under the Big Push infrastructure project.
The project involves upgrading the Sunyani-Techiman to the Bole-Bamboi stretch of the N12 with the focus on delivering high-quality, durable road infrastructure.
The project was formally initiated with a sod-cutting ceremony on November 5, 2025, by President John Mahama.
The people have expressed joy with the contractor returning to the site and only hope the locals will be employed to help boost economic activities.
Addressing the media, the Bole-Bamboi MP urged that all contractors who have been assigned to work within his district should employ people within the district.
“I expect all contractors who are coming to Bole work to employ the people within the district. This is also to create jobs. So they do not take the job somewhere. We, the people of Bole-Bamboi, have been left out for long. The time has come for us to also be recognized, and so I’m appealing to you contractors that any job within the Bole-Bamboi Constituency that you think our people can do, please help us and let them also benefit from this,” he stated.
He added that, in his absence, there will be people who will visit these sites on a daily basis to access the state of work done.
“Even when I’m not in town, there are people who on a daily basis will come around to access in which other form to ensure that contractors are able to do their work and execute it well,” he concluded.
Work has officially started, and the completion date for the 195 km road network is a 24-month timeline.
