You’ll be bias, recuse yourself from Amewu’s case – Tsikata to Justice Honyenuga

Lawyer Tsatsu Tsikata, counsel for the interested parties in the dispute Hohoe seat has asked one of the Judges to rescue himself from the panel.

Tsikata as counsel for the petitioners in the Attorney General’s ex-parte motion praying the Supreme Court to quash the orders of the Ho High Court that granted an injunction application against the embattled Member of Parliament Elect for Hohoe, Mr. John Peter Amewu, has asked Justice Clement Honyenuga to recuse himself of the panel on the bases of basis.

Our source at the Court reveals that Lawyer Tsikata pointed to the fact that he (Justice Honyenuga) is a friend to Mr. John Peter Amewu. He added that Justice Honyenugah has a long-standing relationship with Mr Peter Amewu. And that they are ready to invite witnesses to testify to the long-standing relationship between Honyenugah and Amewu. “Our witnesses are prepared to testify on oath, to this facts, Tsikata added.

The Court had a break and came back to overrule the objection raised by Mr. Tsikata

However, it is alleged the NDC has in the past accused Justice Honyenuga of campaigning for the NPP and publicly declaring support for president Nana Akuffo Addo in the run-up to the 2016 general election.

The court is still in session to hear the AG’s motion. This is a developing story from the court.
