Spokesperson for Dr. Muhammad Bawumia, Dennis Miracles Aboagye has refuted claims that the former Vice President and NPP flagbearer lost in all the 3,000 Zongo Polling Stations in the 2024 election.

Mr. Aboagye was responding to the 2026 NPP flagbearer aspirant Bryan Acheampong’s comments that for former President lost in the Zongo polling stations.

Respectfully sir,
This assertion is false and completely misleading.

Dr. Bawumia won in at least 111 Zongo Polling stations including the zongo in our beloved Abetifi Constituency.

First of all, we have no voting in “communities”, voting is done at polling stations.

Several communities in some cases form a polling station. So you cannot in anyway, do any “electoral outcome” analysis based on communities, except only by using the polling station.

In some cases, a community can have multiple polling stations within the same community, and in other cases, multiple communities can have one polling station.

The most basic way of checking for Zongo votes would be to use polling stations within the Zongo communities or in proximity to a Zongo community with the assumption that, all the Zongo residents vote in that polling station. Fair assumption.

So to say that, a candidate could lose in 3,000 zongo communities is erroneous, misleading and unfair and i am sure, knowing you as a data person, you would agree with me, that cannot be a fair intellectual conclusion, except of course it’s just for the politics of the day.

Indeed, you have some zongo communities voting in a polling station called Methodist primary school A. In some cases, there’s even a polling station called Zongo Polling station A without a single zongo community there.

That said, a critical look at Zongo polling stations, that’s is, polling stations within the Zongo community which are in no way even up to 150 accross the country would prove the falsehood and misrepresentation of the facts.

I have attached here for your reference, Zongo polling stations, that were won by Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. As you can tell by the data attached which is verifiable from the EC results, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia won in 111 Zongo Polling stations.

From the data, respectfully sir, the assertion you make here is false and hopefully, will be corrected in your subsequent engagements. It doesn’t represent the fact and not even close to skewing as it is an analysis that cannot even eexist in the first place.

Respectfully submitted sir…
