Ghanaian actor John Peasah, popularly known as Drogba from the hit series YOLO, has reaffirmed his focus on healing and spiritual recovery following a serious health scare.
In an Instagram story posted on June 16, 2025, Drogba expressed deep gratitude for the progress he’s made in his recovery journey.
“I’m grateful for the progress I’ve made with God. The physical discomfort was overwhelming at times, but the spiritual solace I found was profound,” he shared.
Drogba recalled a turning point after an all-night church service in 2024, during which he experienced relief from his symptoms through a spiritual encounter. He had been diagnosed with a life-threatening demyelinating disease, along with Sleep Apnea and the rare Stiff Person Spectrum Disorder.
Despite some bloggers misreporting his health updates, leading to negative public reactions, Drogba made it clear he will not be distracted.
“Who likes to trend and is in pain? I’d rather not dwell on the negativity. Instead, I’m focusing on my journey towards healing and wholeness, both physically and spiritually,” he wrote.
He added, “I affirm that I am strong, I am capable, and I am worthy of love and care.”
Since his diagnosis, the actor has been using a CPAP machine to assist with breathing and is currently making steady progress.
