What is this obsession with declaring someone wanted? – Ayikoi Otoo criticizes OSP

The Special Prosecutor’s handling of the case against former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta has come under scrutiny, with former Attorney General Ayikoi Otoo strongly criticizing the decision to declare Ofori-Atta wanted.

Otoo argued that since Ofori-Atta had already communicated his need to travel for medical treatment and received permission, there was no need to issue a wanted notice.

He emphasized that if there was a case against Ofori-Atta, he should be formally charged, and if he fails to appear, he could be tried in absentia.

He also expressed frustration over what he sees as an unnecessary escalation of the situation, urging that legal procedures be followed properly.
