The shutdown began at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, July 2, and is expected to last until 5:00 p.m. the same day. As a result, residents in multiple communities will experience an interrupted water supply.
Affected areas include:
Korle-Bu, Dansoman, Mamprobi, Weija (parts), Gbawe, Malam, Anyaa, Kwashieman, Ablekuma, Darkuman, Kaneshie, Tesano, Odorkor, Sowutuom, Lapaz, parts of Achimota, the North Industrial Area, and surrounding communities.
According to GWCL, the shutdown is vital to prevent further damage and ensure long-term system reliability.
“Our engineers are on site working hard to ensure that the work is completed on schedule,” GWCL said in a statement.
The utility company apologized for the inconvenience and advised residents in affected areas to conserve water during the disruption. Water supply is expected to resume promptly once repairs are completed.
