Felix Kwakye Ofosu has criticized the previous NPP government for maintaining an excessively large government, particularly under the Office of the President, which had hundreds of political appointees.

He highlighted that this contributed to unnecessary government spending and assured that under President John Dramani Mahama, this would not be repeated.

Kwakye Ofosu emphasized that Mahama’s administration would appoint only a reasonable number of staffers and aides, far fewer than the NPP’s tenure.

He also dismissed claims that Mahama had secretly appointed additional ministers, confirming the number at 56. Explaining the economic benefits of a leaner government, he pointed out how fewer ministers would result in reduced government spending, such as fewer costly vehicles like Land Cruisers.

He reassured Ghanaians that Mahama’s government would focus on effective development rather than unnecessary expenditure.
