Aduana Stars head coach, Aristică Cioabă has called for a better finishing from his side after they were held to a goalless draw by Medeama Sporting Club in their Matchday 23 clash at the Nana Agyeman Badu I Park, admitting his team must improve in the final third to keep pace in the Ghana Premier League title race.
A result that could have major implications for the title race, as the gap in points between Aduana Stars and league leaders Medeama SC remains seven.
The Ogya lads were highly motivated to bounce back from their frustrating 1-1 stalemate with Medeama SC on matchday 22, and they were keen on maintaining their supremacy over the visitors, a side they defeated 2-0 in the first round.
The two-time Ghana Premier League champions were on top of their game, created the best of scoring opportunities in both halves, but failed to capitalize on these chances.
Speaking after the game, Aristică Cioabă praised the team for their performance.
He stressed that, though they gained dominance in both halves, they lacked the finishing touch to utilize opportunities created.
“We were organized and kept a clean sheet. We controlled the game but lacked the final touch in front of the goal. We must improve in the final third,” he told Aduana Stars TV.
Aduana Stars will face Dreams FC on matchday 24 at the Tuba Turf on Sunday, March 1.
Should they win, the gap will be four against leaders Medeama SC.
