Black Princesses attacker Ivy Owusu Osei says the team is ready and poised to clinch victory against South Africa on Sunday.

The Princesses will host South Africa (Basetsana) in the third round of the 2026 Women’s World Cup (WWC) qualifiers at the Accra Stadium.

The Black Princesses will host the first leg of this crucial qualifier, aiming to advance to the fourth and final round and secure their eighth consecutive Women’s World Cup appearance, which will be held in Poland.

Speaking ahead of the game, attacker Ivy Owusu-Osei says the team is ready to grab the headlines with a victory.

“We’ve been training so hard, and step by step, we are almost there. The energy is getting up, and everything is intact. I can say we are really prepared and we know South Africa is very technical like us. There are three things in football: win, draw, or lose, so we are just hoping for the best,” he stated.

She urged Ghanaians to come support the team, as they are keen on winning.

They began the campaign last month and progressed to this stage after beating Tunisia 4-0 on aggregate in the second round of qualifiers, winning each leg 2-0.

The second leg of this third round will be hosted by South Africa on the weekend of February 12 to 14.
